Culturally Appropriate Practice
We recognise and respectfully acknowledge that cultural contexts affect the manner in which clients make meaning of issues affecting their lives. Client’s socio-economic, cultural identity and ethnicity is given important place in the sessions. Counselling is available in more than one language.
Practitioners within JS Mediation are well-equipped with cultural competencies and language skills to support those particularly from Eastern and Indian communities. JS Mediation Services understands that there are unique cultural issues and differences that play a key role in disputes, and these understandings will allow parties to feel at ease, understood, validated and acknowledged.
